Product Description

Today’s diet is creating increased permeability in our gut lining. Leaky Gut is not a disease; it’s a structural disorder that needs nutritional support to repair it. Leaky Gut Repair combines the leading compounds to support gut restoration.

These important compounds create a protective mucosal barrier, while providing the building blocks for repair. This includes natural anti-histamine properties to reduce inflammation and additional damage. Combining Candida Complex and Serrapeptase can correct the imbalance that led to leaky gut by supporting the reduction of candida overgrowth, parasites and/or dysbiosis.

Leaky Gut Repair is a comprehensive approach to support leaky gut healing. Leaky Gut Syndrome, also called intestinal permeability has been widely accepted by progressive physicians as a major health risk for years. Leaky gut is defined as a breakdown of the gut lining which protects the body and plays a major role in nutrient absorption. A diet lacking proper nutrition plus environmental toxins features prominently in developing a leaky gut.

3 Important Steps to Reverse Leaky Gut:

• Provide a temporary intestinal barrier while stimulating natural production of mucilage (a gel-like polysaccharide that coats stomach and gut lining.)
• Reducing inflammation that triggers additional damage caused by immune system.
• Repairing the cells that make up the wall lining by providing critical building blocks in the epithelial wall.

Our Leaky Gut Repair formulation combines all these tasks in one product.

 PATHOLOGY

Leaky Gut occurs when an increase in harmful bacteria and yeast (candida) within the intestine reaches a tipping point and the intestinal wall is breached. These harmful bacteria and yeast literally burrow between the cells of the intestinal lining like a root system. Candida secrete aldehydes that breakdown the soft tissue of epithelial cells and dissolve connective tissue that make up tight junctions that act as mortar for our gut lining.

These actions reduce our body’s ability to keep harmful organisms out of the body, while simultaneously reducing our ability to absorb nutrition. The best way to reverse this is to repair the cells and tight junctions, reduce histamine production and provide a mucosal shield to protect from further damage. Reducing candida and biofilm should also be part of this regimen.

*Leaky Gut often occurs after a severe cold but more typically Americans get it from their diets over longer periods of time by consuming antibiotic infused animal products and excessive sugar.

Licorice Root (DGL)
Quercetin Dihydrate

  MUCOSAL PROTECTION

Slippery Elm
Glutamine
Marshmallow Root
NAG

  REGENERATION

Zinc Orotate
MSM

  L-Glutamine – 300mg

Glutamine is critical for any program designed to heal leaky gut. Glutamine powder is an anti-inflammatory essential amino acid necessary for the growth and repair of the intestinal lining. Used to support the healing of ulcers and promote healthy bowel movements. Improves IBS and digestive issues by balancing mucosal production.

  Organic Slippery Elm – 150mg

Slippery elm and marshmallow root contains high amounts of mucilage. This eases the inflammation in the stomach lining, supports ulcer healing, and helps with both diarrhea and constipation by creating a protective lining on the digestive tract. It can be thought of as having a band-aid affect on the lining of the gut. Mucilage is a gel-like polysacchride that coats lining. This substance also coats undigested foods and prevents them from passing into the body> This is just one more way to help reduce inflammation.

Organic Marshmallow Root – 150 mg

A multipurpose ingredient used for respiratory or digestive relief. Marshmallow root shares many of the same attributes as slippery elm, but additionally contains antibacterial properties. These two compounds (slippery elm and marshmallow roots) work best together.

  N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine (NAG) – 125mg

N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (NAG) is fundamental to the production of the protective mucus lining the digestive and respiratory tracts. Glutamine is used as the precursor of this important protein that is critical in providing this protective coating for the GI tract lining.

Licorice Root Extract (DGL) – 100mg

Deglycyrrhizinated licorice or DGL, is an extract of licorice root that contains no glycyrrhizin, so it’s completely safe for people with high blood pressure. Licorice root decreases the symptoms associated with acid reflux from the stomach. It’s often taken to ease peptic ulcers, heartburn, colic, and ongoing inflammation of the lining of the stomach (chronic gastritis). Many of these issues arise through inflammation, H. pylori overgrowth or constant use of NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).

  Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) – 100mg

MSM donates sulfur, which is a critically important in tight junction health. Tight junctions are the spaces between epithelial cells that make up the gut lining. If the junctions are too loose or in disrepair, toxins will stream in causing an inflammatory response. MSM also works to coat the mucous membranes of the body and so prevents the movement of allergens into the bloodstream.

  Quercetin Dihydrate 95% – 50mg

Leaky gut is in part caused by unstable mast cells in the gut. Quercetin stabilizes mast cells and drastically reduces the release of histamine and other immune components from these masts cells. As an example, researchers bred rats to have no mast cells in the gut (thus they are unable to have unstable mast cells that release histamine), they no longer develop intestinal permeability or leaky gut. Quercetin has also been shown to enhance gut barrier function by supporting the assembly and expression of tight junction proteins.

  Zinc Orotate (chelate) – 25mg

Zinc that has been chelated to orotic acid is the most readily absorbed form of zinc. Orotate zinc is more neutrally charged compared to other types of zinc allowing easy passage into cells. Patients with Crohn’s disease have experienced success using zinc to decrease ulcerations of the gut associated with leaky gut.
